Position Summary: The Sr. Manager, Engineering & Operations is part of the GRS IT Engineering & Operations team within the Global Regulatory Sciences IT (GRS IT) function. The role will be accountable for implementing and supporting strategic information systems that enable the Global Regulatory Sciences (GRS) function. This role owns end-to-end responsibility for managing the build and run of GRS IT technology assets, ensuring they are reliable, accessible, & secure. Specific responsibilities include partnering with IT Product Managers to plan, prioritize, deliver & support strategic digital capabilities and ensure maximum value is achieved. Manage the build and support of technology assets. Manage Total Cost of Ownership (build & run) and the key drivers behind them to ensure digital capabilities are cost efficient. As needed, the Sr. Manager will also be required to develop technology solutions hands-on. Designs technical solutions to satisfy business requirements. Also influences vendor roadmaps to align with BMS strategy. Skills/Experience:

  • 6+ years technical experience in a BioPharma setting.
  • BS/BA in Engineering, Computer Science or Life Sciences (or other quantitative related discipline) preferred. Graduate Degree or higher-level education highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated competency in execution of multiple large projects simultaneously within a Product Model leveraging Agile methods.
  • Able to collaborate across multiple teams.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Innovative and inquisitive nature to ask questions, offer bold ideas and challenge the status quo.
  • Must have broad technology expertise, good working knowledge of Pharmaceutical R&D business processes, particularly in Drug Development, with demonstrated command of key concepts, systems and processes.
  • Should have a demonstrated track record implementing complex technical solutions, developing software applications following structured SDLC processes in a regulated environment and managing technical teams.
  • Proven experience as a developer of technology solutions in one or more programming languages.
  • Experience working with offshore software development models is preferred.
  • Must have experience in dealing with complex technical issues and working with key business stakeholders to develop solutions for short-term remediation and long-term strategy.
  • Experience in evaluating new technologies, delivery methods (e.g., SaaS/PaaS/IaaS), and services, and influencing the negotiation process for vendor products.
  • Ability to achieve successful consensus among differing priorities and stakeholders in both the IT and Business communities.
