Unit Manager- Bedford Hills Correctional FacilityReports to:
Program Director, Bedford Hills Children's CenterStatus: Full-time,
ExemptWork Schedule: M-F, 9:00 am to 5:00 pmSalary: $70,000 per
year Job SummaryThe Nursery Manager must comply with all DOCCS
Register Volunteer requirements, including background checks,
policies, and procedures, and PREA (Prison Rape Elimination Act)
requirements. Also, the Nursery Manager must comply with DOCCS
COVID Policies.The Nursery Manager oversees all aspects of the
Nursery Program.Duties and Responsibilities:Oversee all logistical
and practical needs of the Nursery unit- (including the ordering,
distribution, and management of supplies, diapers, and foodLiaise
with the facility's medical staff, including the contracted
pediatrician, in all matters related to the health of the Nursery
infantsServe as a resource for Nursery mothers when issues,
challenges, or conflicts ariseProvides conflict resolution guidance
when needed in collaboration with the Social Work SupervisorWork in
collaboration with the facility Nursery Counselor to coordinate all
admissions, discharges, and manage any issues that occurMaintain
accurate records of all admissions, discharges, post-release
placements, as well as provides information needed for reporting
requirementsPlan and administer monthly Nursery management meeting
to include Children's Center staff, as well as facility
administration Communicate regularly with the Program Director and
facility administration when any issues ariseSchedule and
administer seasonal events, including 1st birthday celebrations for
the infantsWork in collaboration with DOCCS Nursery Counselor to
plan and execute special enrichment and education programs for
Nursery mothers, including the Prenatal and Nursery Parenting
classesWork with Lactation Consultant to ensure nursing mothers are
properly supportedCoordinate and run the weekly Nursery community
meetingsCollaborate with the Infant Development Center Manager in
all Nursery management and program mattersOther duties as
assignedQualifications and Requirements:ExperienceCompassionStrong
organizational SkillsExperience with infants and/or toddlers
preferredExperience working in a prison setting
preferredEducational levelBA or BSMaster's Degree preferred, but
not required Specification for Physical RequirementsMust be able to
