Job Description:
Assistant General Manager sought for Santi, a fine dining
Italian restaurant in Manhattan. This role is responsible for
ensuring excellence, creativity, and profitability in the dining
experience. Key duties include working with the General Manager to
set business direction, managing FOH staff, and maintaining high
standards of service and quality. Candidates should have 5-7 years
of experience in fine dining, restaurant management certification
or degree, and proficiency in technology systems. Competitive

include flexibility, ability to work varied hours, and standing for
up to 8-10 hours a day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with the General Manager to set direction and develop
plans to drive sales, manage costs, and grow the business
- Manage FOH staff employee relations and disciplinary action,
with oversight from the General Manager
- Manage daily reporting of FOH labor, including managing
timesheets and sales reports
- Report all repair and maintenance needs in a timely manner to
ensure safety and aesthetic consistency
- Lead pre-shift meetings and update staff on operational and
service changes
- Maintain upkeep of FOH training materials and ensure service
standards are communicated and upheld
- Enhance and strengthen guest relationships and promote a
positive culture among employees
- Resolve complaints from guests in a polite, friendly manner and
ensure complaints are escalated to the General Manager when
necessary
- Ensure the entire space looks, smells, and feels great,
including lighting, temperature, bathrooms, cleanliness, and
seating arrangements
- Participate in training about standardized policies and
maintain a strong understanding of company background, core values,
and philosophy
- Adhere to all company safety and sanitation policies and
procedures
Requirements:
- Minimum 5-7 years working in a fine dining restaurant as an
Assistant General Manager or similar role
- Restaurant Management Certification or college degree in a
related field, preferred
- Experience with operations management, team management, and
team development
- Proficient in a variety of technology systems, especially
Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, Google Suite, POS platforms,
reservation management platforms, and various business analysis
programs
- Able to work nights, weekends, and holidays, and variable
schedule, per the needs of the business
- NYC Food Protection Certificate
- Willingness to maintain a clean, healthy, and safe working
environment
- Ability to coordinate multiple activities with attention to
detail
Physical Demands:
- Ability to be flexible with job demands and open-minded when
being asked to complete tasks
- Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to run the
restaurant
- Ability to handle stress under pressure
- Ability to move or handle equipment throughout the restaurant,
generally weighing 50 pounds
- Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates
- Ability to stand for up to 8-10 hours a day
