Physician - Internal Medicine or Family Practice

SCHEDULE:
- Full-Time
- 8 Hours per Day

COMPENSATION:
- $250,000 to $300,000 Base Salary, depending on experience
- Quarterly Productivity Bonuses (5% of collections)

COMPANY PROFILE:
This private practice is physician-owned and has been providing the highest quality of healthcare services to residents of Westchester County for more than 20 years. They are dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care in their own clinic, as well as in collaboration with their rehabilitation hospital partner, which is a 150-bed facility specializing in acute and subacute care.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The new physician will be employed by a private, physician-owned practice and will provide services at a partnered rehabilitation hospital.

The physician will treat patients in the 150-bed facility and oversee 4 nurse practitioners on a day-to-day basis. There are 8 nurse practitioners total, comprising the medical consultation team and covering the facility 24/7.

The role is approximately 90% patient care and 10% administrative, with the practice staffing an on-site administrator to assist the team in the facility.

Duties of the physician role include, but are not limited to:

- provide medical consultation services and support to admitted patients
- perform admission consultations
- provide leadership to the medical consultation team, including chart reviews
- provide routine medical management
- attend to urgent issues during hours on-site
- attend weekly acute care transfer meetings
- collaborate with other providers, including a weekly meeting with the physician-owner
- act as a liaison between hospital staff and practice leadership

The physician will see an average of 20 to 24 patients per day with the support of a clinical assistant.

Patients are typically stable and being transferred to this facility for the final stages of their recovery process.

The hospital uses the Epic EHR.

On-call duties are very minimal. The facility is staffed 24/7 by the practice s nurse practitioners and there is a triage service for them to contact if necessary, and a dedicated provider in the group who serves as the next point of contact. This physician would only be involved in on-call if that provider was unavailable and it was pre-arranged.

The physician will round one (1) weekend per month - this is a half-day and the hours are negotiable.

REQUIREMENTS:
- New York medical license
- DEA
- Board Certified, Internal Medicine or Family Practice
- 3+ years of practice experience
- previous inpatient experience preferred
- previous acute care experience preferred
