Job DetailsWhole Foods Market - Williamsburg is seeking a skilled Prepared Foods Order Writer to join their team. This role is responsible for purchasing and replenishing food products for preparation, monitoring inventory control, and participating in regional programs for purchasing and promotions.Responsibilities

• Purchasing and Replenishment: Procure and replenish food products for preparation through proper buying procedures, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.
• Inventory Management: Monitor and act upon open PO reports, controlling spoilage and shrink, achieving turn goals, and participating in inventory processes.
• Ordering and Receiving: Complete spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required, and assist with counter service and cooking as scheduled or necessary.
• Communication and Teamwork: Communicate with the Kitchen Manager/ Chef and Team Leader on ordering needs and issues, maintaining positive working relationships with vendors, and working with Team Leaders to cost recipes.
• Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, addressing customer needs in a timely and effective manner, and modeling suggestive selling techniques.
• Financial Management: Maintain financial profitability by meeting and exceeding purchasing and sales targets.
• Adaptability and Flexibility: Arrive on time, be appropriately groomed and dressed, work all scheduled shifts, attend required trainings and meetings, and be willing to adapt to changing priorities and situations.Requirements
  • Product Knowledge: Possess extensive product knowledge, including production, distribution, seasonal availability, advances, and trends.
  • Communication Skills: Demonstrate strong communication skills, including the ability to create and negotiate price bids, educate team members on product knowledge, and convey enthusiasm.
  • Technical Skills: Have working knowledge and application of all Prepared Foods merchandising expectations, as well as the ability to use computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and ordering systems.
  • Teamwork and Adaptability: Be willing to work as part of a team, adapt to changing priorities and situations, and demonstrate a strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
