Job Description:

Job Title: Seafood Order WriterWhole Foods Market is seeking a skilled Seafood Order Writer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing seafood products, participating in purchasing and promotions, and maintaining inventory control.Responsibilities:

• Replenish seafood products through proper buying procedures and maintain accurate back stock levels.
• Order seafood products in a timely and accurate manner to monitor inventory turns.
• Monitor and act upon open PO reports for both purchases and credits in an accurate and timely manner.
• Control spoilage and shrink by achieving turn goals and participating in inventory management.
• Complete spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required.
• Analyze and control product transfers, waste, and spoilage.
• Support leadership in conducting inventories and maintain financial profitability by meeting and exceeding purchasing and sales targets.
• Separate, scan, and dispose of spoilage/shrink.
• Provide excellent customer service, address customer needs in a timely and effective manner, and model suggestive selling techniques.
• Maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product.
• Follow and comply with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.Requirements:

• Comprehensive knowledge of seafood products and working knowledge of seafood merchandising expectations.
• Ability to educate team on product knowledge and convey enthusiasm.
• Strong basic math skills and knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and ordering systems.
• Strong to excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.
• Ability to meet customer service expectations and standards in all interactions with customers, vendors, and Team Members.Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • In an 8-hour work day: standing/walking 6-8 hours.
  • Ability to work in a wet and cold environment.
