Prepared Foods Department Supervisor

Job Description:

Assists with scheduling, supervision, and day-to-day department flow. Oversees and maintains Prepared Foods, coffee, and juice displays. Supports Prepared Foods Team Leader and Associate Team Leader to ensure smooth operation. Ensures positive company image and courteous service to customers and Team Members. Performs duties in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.

  • Supervises and delegates tasks to Prepared Foods Team Members.
  • Trains Team Members to build and sustain a high-performance team.
  • Assists in training new Team Members.
  • Keeps cases and shelves clean, well-stocked, and rotated.
  • Opens and closes department according to procedures.
  • Ensures necessary breaks are given.
  • Communicates team concerns to Team Leader and Associate Team Leader.
  • Sets and achieves retail execution standards.
  • Fosters a positive environment of teamwork and mutual respect.
  • Directs Team Members to satisfy and delight customers.
  • Selects, trains, develops, and motivates Team Members.
  • Provides timely performance evaluations.
  • Communicates and models WFM vision and goals.
    • Knowledge of Prepared Foods team procedures and policies.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal and customer relationship skills.
    • Ability to teach others in a positive manner.
    • Product knowledge.
    • Advanced knowledge of regulatory and safety policies.
    • Proficient mathematical skills for financial performance and inventory management.
    • Decision-making ability, leadership skills, and prioritization.
    • Proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and operations applications.
      • 12+ months retail experience.
        • Lift 50 pounds.
        • Standing/walking 6-8 hours in an 8-hour work day.
        • Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
        • Work requires bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
        • Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.
        • Exposure to temperatures: 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
        • Ability to work in wet and dry conditions.
        • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
        • Ability to use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, and heavy machinery.
